72 Athletes, One HYROX 70% Simulation in Hua Hin

72 Athletes, One HYROX 70% Simulation in Hua Hin

On Saturday 1 August 2026, 72 athletes took on the Summit HYROX Simulation 70% in Hua Hin, solo or in doubles, as the last stop before HYROX Bangkok.

It was one of our biggest HYROX simulations in Thailand yet. The goal was to recreate as much of the HYROX race experience as possible while completing approximately 70% of the full race volume. But as always at Summit, it became much more than a workout: it was also a community morning, with a live DJ from the first start to the final finish.

A Professional HYROX Simulation in Hua Hin, Thailand

A good simulation should do more than make you tired. It should teach you something about pacing, transitions, station strategy, running under fatigue, movement standards, nutrition, warm-up and race-day nerves.

That's why we put so much care into how our HYROX simulations at Summit Gym Hua Hin are organised: scheduled start waves, a race briefing and a structured course designed to feel as close as possible to competition. Every athlete gets to practise what is hard to reproduce in a normal training session.

Race preparation isn't only about getting fitter. It's also about getting better at racing.

‍

The Workout: 70% of a HYROX Race

The course followed the HYROX format at around 70% of the race volume, with 700 m of running between every station:

  • 700 m Ski Erg
  • 60 m Sled Push
  • 56 m Burpee Broad Jumps
  • 700 m Row Erg
  • 200 m Farmers Carry
  • 70 m Sandbag Lunges
  • 70 Wall Balls

‍

Why a 70% HYROX Simulation?

A full simulation creates a lot of fatigue, especially in an already demanding training block. A 70% HYROX simulation lets athletes experience the rhythm and demands of HYROX while keeping the overall training load more manageable.

You still run under fatigue, still move between running and functional stations, still have to manage your effort. And you still find out quickly which parts of your preparation need more work.

For athletes preparing for HYROX Bangkok or another HYROX race in Asia, it is a useful checkpoint: test, learn, adjust, then get back to training.

‍

72 Athletes, One Big Community

72 athletes took on the Summit 70% HYROX Simulation. Some came to test themselves, some were preparing for their next HYROX race, some wanted to race with a partner, and for others it was the closest thing to a HYROX competition they had tried.

Once the first wave started, everyone was part of the same event. Athletes cheered each other on, helped each other through difficult moments and stayed to support those starting after them.

Prizes for the best in each category (solo men, solo women and doubles) were supported by The Standard Hua Hin.

‍

Serious Racing. Not-So-Serious Atmosphere.

We take the racing seriously. The atmosphere is another story.

With a live DJ, friends and teammates cheering around the course and 72 people sharing the same challenge, Summit Gym had a different energy that morning. Athletes chased times, fought through wall balls and pushed each other through the final stations, and there were plenty of smiles once the suffering was over.

That's the balance we aim for in every Summit simulation: professional enough to prepare you for race day, fun enough that you want to do it again.

HYROX Training in Hua Hin

As an official HYROX Training Club in Thailand, Summit Gym runs structured HYROX training in Hua Hin throughout the year. Our weekly programme combines strength, threshold work, VO2 training, aerobic development, running and HYROX-specific sessions.

Our facility includes dedicated sled lanes, Ski Ergs, Row Ergs, Bike Ergs, wall balls, sandbags and functional training space. Discover our new HYROX space in Hua Hin.

Simulations add another layer: they let athletes put everything they've built in training together in a competitive environment. That's why they have become an important part of the Summit training calendar. That calendar also includes workshops: just a week before the simulation, we hosted the Summit Performance Weekend with Hugo Hugemark, a two-day HYROX workshop on pacing, station technique and race strategy.

‍

Preparing for HYROX Bangkok

With HYROX growing in Thailand, more athletes are looking for structured ways to prepare for HYROX Bangkok and other races around Asia, and more are travelling to Hua Hin to train.

Our simulations are open to different levels, from first-time competitors who want to understand the race to experienced racers testing their pacing. Non-members could take part too.

For athletes coming from Bangkok or elsewhere in Thailand, a Summit simulation can be combined with a weekend of training and recovery in Hua Hin.

‍

Train & Stay: Make Hua Hin Your Training Camp

For athletes wanting more than a single session, Summit also offers a Train & Stay experience in Hua Hin. Come for a dedicated training block and combine HYROX sessions, running, strength and conditioning, personal training and recovery with accommodation close to the gym.

Whether you're preparing for HYROX Bangkok, another HYROX event in Thailand or an international race, the idea is simple: get away from your routine, train, recover, meet other athletes and focus on your performance. Interested? Get in touch.

More Than a Simulation

72 athletes, 70% of a HYROX race, multiple start waves, solo and doubles, one DJ and a lot of racing. The photos tell the rest: athletes competing, friends shouting from the sidelines, partners suffering together and people who had already finished staying behind to support the next wave.

That's what we're building at Summit: professional training, serious performance and a community that makes you want to be part of it. The next simulation is never too far away.

See you on the start line.

Believe. Commit. Achieve.
